Atlanta Baby Photographer
One of my favorite things about being an Atlanta baby photographer is doing on milestone sessions. We did this session at Marietta square. I love incorporating local areas that families visit frequently into a session. Marietta Square is one of my favorite areas. My own family loves the weekend farmers market there, and there are so many great restaurants to choose from.
One year milestone sessions are one of my favorite ages. Usually, kiddos are either walking, or are very close to walking by the time they’re a year. They are also curious, smiley, and slightly less afraid of camera carrying strangers than they were at 6 months old! This little guy rocked his one year session. We played peek-a-boo, checked out the train, he did great!
Scheduling Your Milestone Session
Milestone sessions usually last around 45 minutes to an hour. I offer studio sessions for babies from newborn up to 1 year. However, if your one year old is mobile, walking, moving around fast, even cruising, it’s usually best to do that session on location. Somewhere outside, where they have a little bit of freedom to roam around and check out new things. In my experience, this goes a lot better than trying to keep herding them back where we want them in my studio.
A milestone session can take place anytime you’d like, as far as babies age. Generally, I find that my clients want to capture 3, 6, 9, and 12 months..or some variation of those ages. I stay pretty busy, especially in the fall, so booking as far in advance as you can helps guarantee you get the date and time you’d like. I usually suggest scheduling your session around 2-4 weeks in advance. I have a good bit more flexibility during the week, than I do on weekends.
