Atlanta Newborn Photographer

I LOVE getting to meet all of Atlanta’s newest cuties as an Atlanta newborn photographer.  To be completely honest, when a client books a newborn session with me and says they have a 2 year old “big sibling”,  I sometimes get a little nervous.  Two year olds are unpredictable, and often not even bribable!

I remember trying to do my daughters newborn photos.  My oldest was 3 1/2 years old when she was born, and my middle son was 26 months…and then we had a newborn.  I specifically remember sitting them all in this cute little chair and handing my 3 year old his brand new baby sister.  My mom was off to the side “spotting” for me, and I said “ok buddy, whatever you do, don’t let go of her”.  It was as if I said, “ok, drop the baby NOW”.  Luckily, my mom was an excellent spotter and my new baby did not get dropped on the floor.

Incorporating Siblings into your Newborn Session

Many of my clients have at least one, if not more, sibling they’d like to incorporate into their newborn session.  The way that I suggest to do this, is have sibling/s and dad come at the start of the session.  We will do the family and sibling photos in the first 30 minutes of the session.  After that, everyone is free to go that isn’t mom or baby.  This is a great time for dad to get some special one on one time with older siblings.

Often, for the sibling part of the session, I try to have a more “lifestyle” approach.  We will do a few photos of everyone snuggling and interacting, A couple of sibling and baby, and then we’re done.

Booking Your Atlanta Newborn Photographer Session

I usually put newborn sessions on my calendar anytime in the 2nd to 3rd trimesters.  Obviously, since the science of predicting a due date isn’t terribly exact, there’s a little wiggle room on this.  Once you decide that you’d like to book a session with me, I will invoice you, and put your due date on my calendar.  As soon as baby has arrived, let me know, and we will schedule your session for sometime in the next 7-21 days.  Contacting me to schedule your session couldn’t be easier.  Just click here to fill out my contact form.
