As a Marietta Baby Photographer, one of my favorite things is capturing milestones in the lives of these precious little ones. I recently did a milestone session with Alice. She was so adorable and engaged in the process, it was as if she already decided she wants to be a model!
What is a milestone photography session?
From the day they’re born, babies grow and change daily. You take plenty of candid photos every day, but wouldn’t it be nice to have some more professional photos of those changes? Photos that really highlight the differences from one milestone to the next?
Milestone photography is a series of sessions throughout the first year of your baby’s life and beyond. We can start with your maternity session, then the newborn photos, and then move on to milestones at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year. In each session, baby is doing more, from rolling to crawling to walking. They’re laughing, maybe even talking, and each session is a unique set of photos entirely different from the others. In some cases, the 9 month session can be optional, since for many babies, not much has changed in the time between 6 and 9 months.
Some parents even choose to do them monthly – it’s really up to you.
Milestone photography sessions allow you to see the growth of your baby in a new way.

When should you schedule your milestone photography session?
Scheduling a milestone photography session with your Marietta baby photographer is easy. The usual milestones are 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. The good news is you don’t have to schedule these sessions exactly on the day.
You can also schedule the sessions in advance and mark them on your calendar so that you’re all set. What should I bring to a milestone photography session?
A Marietta baby photographer will often have props and clothes for milestone photography sessions. However, you should bring any toys, clothing, or other items that have sentimental value that you want included in the photos.
You should also bring plenty of diapers and wipes, and food for baby. I do recommend feeding baby before the session for the best photos, but we all know babies don’t always eat when we want them to.
